"I just wanted to say thank you so much for an incredible stay in your beautiful apartment. It's a stunning location overlooking the Mediterranean and being so close to Old town and the Prom des Anglais. It was ideal for my family and I. We visited Antibes, Cannes, Monte Carlo and Monaco and went in to Italy. We also got to ski in Auron which was fabulous. We got to swim every morning. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay. We will definitely return soon."

James and Mary Willis, London, UK

"I stayed in Nice in this lovely apartment with my partner. It is a lovely bright, comfortable apartment with a super view over the whole of Nice. We were looking for somewhere quiet, self contained but close to the town and that is exactly what this apartment is.
Helen who rented the apartment to us was friendly, came back to me quickly and was easy to deal with.
I particularly liked that she had left a folder for me with recommended local restaurants and places to go. It made our week....
We'll be coming back. Thank you"

"Having not been to Nice before I was not sure what to expect and Nice lives up to its reputation.

We chose this apartment as it was out of the noise of the city but still very much close to the centre, only a few minutes away. What a great choice. The apartment is airy, has loads of light and a stunning view. All mod cons that you need is here and it is situated very close to everything. The garden area is well maintained and beautiful and the pool is fabulous. It is a very private, secure development and very relaxing. We were blessed with the weather and though it was March we were walking around in shorts and t shirts!

We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend a stay here."

Nice Jardin, Corniche De Magnan, Nice, France

Nice / France

The capital of the Riviera and fifth largest city in France, NICE lives off a glittering reputation, its former glamour now gently faded. First popularized by English aristocrats in the eighteenth century, Nice reached its zenith in the belle époque of the late nineteenth century, an era that left the city with several extraordinary architectural flights of fancy. Nice has all the advantages of a major city: superb culture, wonderful street life and excellent shopping, eating and drinking, all set against a backdrop of blue skies, sparkling sea and sub-tropical greenery kept lush by sprinklers.

Activities in and around Nice

When you start itching for fresh air and open spaces, it’s time to delve into the outdoor activities of Nice. You don’t need to be a fitness guru to enjoy the natural wonders of Nice either; these activities come just as active or relaxed as you’d like. So get out of the city, and get back to nature.

Colline de Chimiez
Situated on the hill between the old town and the harbour, this park is a big favourite with locals and tourists alike.

Jardin Albert I
This is the ideal place to take a break and unwind. It is a haven of tranquillity with a large lawn, fountains, pine and palm trees and inviting chairs, perfectly placed to connect Vieux-Nice, the city centre and the beachfront Promenade des Anglais.

Marineland Sea Life Centre
A good day trip for the entire family is located 25km from Nice and houses an impressive array of marine life. Walk along the glass tunnel through the shark pool and watch different species circling menacingly overhead.

Massena Zone Pietonne
This pedestrian zone is closed to traffic, which means children and parents can enjoy carefree strolling among the many shops, cafes and street performers. Jugglers, musicians and mime artists can often be seen performing here and the warm atmosphere extends throughout the day and into the evening.

Promenade des Anglais / Baie des Anges
This famous seafront promenade provides hours of enjoyment for the entire family. Facilities include paddle-boats, jet-skis, parasailing, sea-water swimming pool, and a beachside café with delicious cuisine served on a delightful shaded terrace.

 Train des Pignes
The little Pignes train is very picturesque and is such an original way to travel. It usually has just one carriage and is delightfully old fashioned. A journey that'll take you through many little Provençal villages, the Nice-Digne trip lasts about three hours (this isn't one of those high speed French trains).

Theâtre de la Cite
In a little-frequented street close to Thiers train station; this theatre hosts shows of every imaginable variety. The packed programme features first-time productions, classic pieces and cabaret style shows, as well as concerts, dance and puppet shows (children's shows at 2pm Wednesdays).

Verrerie d'art
Using techniques that go back several hundred years, craftsmen here create stunning pieces of glassware from what at first glance appears to be nothing more than sand. Watch them at work as this is turned into molten glass that's heated white-hot, fashioned into shape while soft and pliable, given its final contours, and finally cooled down:

Corsica Ferries
Nice is the perfect place from which to set out on a journey of discovery to the island of Corsica, otherwise known as the Ile de Beaute, or 'Beautiful Island'.

Opera
Going at least once to a performance at the Opera de Nice is a must, even if it's just to admire the fairy-like theatre and its enormous chandelier.

Skating
The Promenade des Anglais is made for in-line skating. A wide tarmac strip dedicated to skaters runs the 5km length of the Promenade out to the Airport.

Year-round ice skating can be found in an Olympic-sized rink within the Jean Bouin Palais de Sports Centre, by the Acropolis Exhibition Centre, just north of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

Skiing
If you are in Nice during the winter months (November-February), you can go skiing for the day in Isola 2000, Auron in the southern French Alps, by catching the Skibus which leaves the Gare Routiere (bus station) in Nice

Walking Tours
Normally only open to the public during daylight hours, the Parc du Château becomes the scene of a nocturnal journey into the history of Nice during the summer season. Reciting local lore from antiquity to the present day, the three-hour guided tour is led by actors in period dress around the garden, which was built in 1821.

Water Sports
St. Laurent du Var is 5 minutes from Nice and a great place for windsurfing and retreating from the crowds along the Promenade des Anglais.

Other recommended places for water sports are Estérel, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and the Lérins Islands. Equipment rentals (windsurfing, canoes, and boats) and advice/information are available at one of the many sailing centres (Stations Voiles) here.
